2019/02/12 How to choose the material for food bags? What is the difference in Silicone TPU and PEVA?

When you buy food bags, do you notice the difference in materials? Can it bear the heat? Will there be plasticizing about issue?

Snowberry is here to help you understanding the difference of various materials.

PEVA:

(A): Non-toxic and an environment-friendly material. No high temperature melting plasticizer abouts.
(B): It feels powdery and smooth, when you touch it.
(C): Lower tear resistance. It is not suitable for `use on bags that reguire high load.
(D): Melting point is about 90 degree. Softening temperature is about 53 degrees.


TPU:
(A): Non-toxic and an environment-friendly material. No high temperature melting plasticizer abouts.
(B): PEVA, but more flexibility. It fecls similar to PEVA
(C): Higher tear resistance. Suitable for use on bags with high load bearing.
(D): Melting point is about 120 degrees.

Food Grade silicone:
(A): Non-toxic and an environment-friendly material. No high temperature melting plasticizer abouts.
(B): Higher tear resistance. Suitable for use on bags with high load bearing.
(C): Higher stability on temperature influence(-40 ~ 250 degrees) widetemperature resistance range.
(D): Microwave safe. Double boiler available.

※Even the materials mentioned above are non-toxic materials. Please avoid scratching the surface of the material during cleaning. It might cause growing bacteria and brings health concerns. We recommend using sponge, baking soda, and natural detergent to clean.
